I didn't know Duke, but have been told by the Mayor of Clearwater, Frank Hibbard, that Duke was the founder of our Lake Belleview Neighborhood Association. As a volunteer for the association I appreciate what Duke created and it has had and will continue to have a lasting positive impact for future generations. I wish I had a chance to meet Duke and hear some of the stories I'm sure he could have told.
Duke was a good friend and mentor that will truly be missed. One of his great achievements was helping those less fortunate in securing affordable housing. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness and love of God.
Duke will always be remembered by so many that he taught Real Estate to and by the many 1st time Homeowners that he helped through the classes so they could qualify to purchase homes with grants and down payments. I attended many classes with Duke as the Instructor and always learned something each and every time. Duke will be missed by many of us members of the Greater Tampa Assoc. and the Pinellas REALTOR Association.
I worked with and beside Duke for 12 years. Geni, his bride, and Duke accepted my gal Pat and me into their lives and house. We were there when their house burnt down. We stood beside him and Geni when they renewed their vows. I will miss my friend and mentor.
Duke was a very dear friend of mine. He could certainly tell a story. We did business together for many years, worked on Hope Expo, and many affordable housing committees. He was a rock for me in difficult times and I will miss him. At least he is at last with his "Bride" who he talked to every night. . Prayers to the family during this difficult time.
