Dad, I miss you so much. You were the best dad ever!

Happy Birthday, Dad......your Son, Mark.....
i will be walking along during the day, and have memories of the times you took me fishing or hunting as a young boy.. all the vacations we took, i had the best childhood, because of you....your guidance, love, and ability to conquer any of life's difficulties....

I remember Uncle Lawrence every time I sign my name (I am his middle namesake :) So he will live on as long as I can write! I have few direct memories of him but they are of laughter, a pipe, dogs, a strong grip, and a mischievously creative spirit. Most important to me are Dad's memories of him and how he looked up to Lawrence in many ways.
My best memory of Lawrence was his kindness to me when I was going through my divorce. I always loved his sense of humor. He was an extremely hard worker and seemed to cherish his family. Dee Tome
In the late 1950's my dad built a black convertible roadster. He built this not from any type of kit, but with various parts from about 6 automobiles. He created the body from plywood and bolted it to a steel frame. The engine was from a three-horsepower lawn mower engine with speeds up to 20 mph. It weighed about 400 pounds. He built this for Mark and I even although I was very young, I can remember many rides and picking up the nieghborhood friends and family. I am posting The Cincinnati Enquirer's article written in 1963 and The Golden Hammer award he received from Mechanix Illustrated magazine, along with several pictures.
Oh Larry...you will be missed....I always felt so welcome in you and Sue's home...I would stop by and you always came out of the garage (which even I admired its orderly fashion) from working on something telling me a little joke of some kind...talking about our dogs ( I still don't believe the story you found Kelly....think you fell in love with him somewhere and thought Sue would buy it ha!) Being a single Mom I called on you often with my plumbing issues and you never flinched....always helping and never charging me what you should...but most of all...I just loved the way you teased Sue...You are and will be a good man in heaven...the angels rejoice seeing your face....while tears will be on ours...love to you and your family...
