I’ll always remember Lee as an outstanding city commissioner who deeply cared about Clearwater. He had a vision. He sought to preserve the city’s neighborhoods, control overdevelopment, and enhance the visual environment. He was instrumental in causing the removal of more than 200 portable signs and 70 billboards that cluttered the city’s roadways. He was one of the best and will be greatly missed.
As a former city planner, I will never forget Lee. Clearwater had so many great commissioners in the “old days” - and Lee was definitely one of them. He was always squarely focused on making the city a better place. For example, in 1985 Lee was instrumental in formulating a new code for the city that enhanced the visual environment, including the removal of more than 70 billboards throughout the city. Clearwater is a better place today thanks to Lee.

I will always remember the positive community news I would read before I realized Suzi & I were Alpha Chi Omega sisters from different colleges. Reading the wonderful words about his life I believe my dad, slightly older, would have loved having Lee as a friend. The Regulski clan had wonderful parents with values of family, education & community service. That example is truly what matters in life.
