Loran V. Luchan's Obituary
Loran Victor Luchan, age 86, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026.
Loran was born on May 26, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Victor and Carmen Luchan. He dedicated over 20 years of service as a St. Louis County Police Officer, a career marked by commitment and service to his community.
In retirement, Loran enjoyed staying active and social. He spent his time playing golf, visiting the casino and dog track, and most especially supporting his grandchildren by attending their sporting events whenever he could. He cherished these moments and took great pride in his family.
Loran is survived by his son, Mark Luchan and wife Janice; and his daughter, Lori Ilges (Luchan) and husband Kevin. He was a proud grandfather to Kyle Ilges and Kali Dundon and Husband Mark, and great-grandfather to AJ Dundon.
He is also survived by his siblings, Don and Karen; and was the oldest sibling of the late Ron (survived by Mary). Loran is further survived by his significant companion, Carol Ledwith, along with many dear friends.
Loran was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth, and his brother, Ron.
Loran will be cremated in Dunedin, Florida. Plans for a celebration of life gathering in St. Louis will be announced at a future date.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
