Ludvig C. Christensen II's Obituary
Ludvig “Ludi” Charles Christensen II, 67, passed away on September 27, 2018.
Ludi, an adventurous, free spirit spent his younger days in the U.S. Virgin Islands exploring all that the island of St. Thomas had to offer. His time in the islands shaped him into the man he later became. He acquired his pilot’s license at the age of 16, flying his father’s plane anywhere and everywhere he could. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University; followed by 41 years working in the insurance industry focusing on claims management and consulting. He was an avid motorcycle rider for nearly 40 years and an outdoorsman from an early age. Worshipful Ludvig Christensen, Past Master of Post Lodge No. 127 Clearwater, FL served for 35 years as a Mason. He was also Past Commander of Springtime Commandery No. 40 Knights Templar. Additionally, he was a member of Clearwater Chapter No. 45 Royal Arch Mason and Clearwater Counsel No. 34 Royal and Select Master. Ludi was a simple and selfless man with a genuine love for his family and friends.
Ludi, a loving husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his devoted wife and soulmate, Sharon, with their four daughters and their husbands: Kristin Holley, Gina and Brandon Carver, Alicia and Nicholas Coppley Sr., Tanya and Jeffrey Holt, and one son and his wife Tomas and Casey Rio Jr., along with 5+ grandchildren (Dillon Holley, Gabe Carver, Nicholas Coppley Jr., Makayla Rio, Savannah Holt, and upcoming Makenzie Rio). Brothers in law Monty Haskins, and David (Barbara) Hintzke Sr. He was predeceased by his parents Inga (Iversen) and Allan Christensen, and his sister Inga Haskins.
A Celebration of his Life and Masonic Services will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, October 6 at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd. Clearwater, FL. In recognition of Ludi’s love for the islands, please consider wearing resort casual attire to the service. Private burial will be held on Saturday, October 13 at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
