Makaia Valencia Scott's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter and sister, Makaia, who left us on November 26, 2024, at the age of 19. Despite the challenges she faced from a rare and often misunderstood disorder, Makaia lived a life full of grace, resilience, and joy.
From an early age, it was clear that Makaia possessed a spirit that was nothing short of extraordinary. While her condition limited some aspects of her life, it never dampened her ability to light up any room. Her laughter was infectious, her smile boundless, and her warmth a comfort to all who knew her. She had a deep love for music, often found listening along to her favorite songs, and her heart was full of the magic of Disney movies. Whether she was lost in the music or enchanted by beloved Disney characters, these passions filled her with joy and brought smiles to all who shared them with her.
As a daughter, she brought endless love and pride to her family. As a sister, she was a true source of support, offering unwavering love and an ever-present smile. Her unique ability to brighten anyone’s day, regardless of the circumstances, left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though her time with us was far too short, Makaia’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. She reminded us all of the importance of finding joy in the small moments and showing compassion in the face of adversity.
Makaia is preceded in death by her father, Demetrius McChone. She survived by her mother, Mallory McChone, and her siblings Bethany Simon (Scott), Jayvion Washington, Kingston Washington, Amos Solano, Demetrian McChone, Deondre McChone, and Dejaney McChone.
