MARIE JEAN HERRITY WARK (Died 11-21-2019)
Marie Jean Herrity Wark was born in Clinton, Iowa on July 14, 1933. She was the sixth child of Clinton residents Anna Burke and John William Herrity.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Logan D. Brooks, and her siblings John, Patricia Konieczki, Mary Cavanagh, Madonna McDevitt and Molly Judge.
Marie was married to Thomas Edison Wark in 1952, following high school graduation. They later divorced. Tom and Marie had 7 children together. All were born in Clinton. Marie’s 8th child was born in Detroit, MI.
In 1973 Marie started working for the City of Largo and the Largo Police Department. She was active in the City Workers Union. She also worked for Moss Feaster and the Home Shopping Network.
Marie is survived by her sister Dolores Hoffman (Venice, FL) and seven children including John, Catherine, Laura W Liu, David, Mark, Steven, and Patricia W DePetris. Marie also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Marie’s legacy, pride and joy were her huge bustling family. She was a delightful, fun-loving high-spirited daughter, sister, mother and friend who will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
