Marilyn Kalitowski Daly's Obituary
Marilyn Kalitowski Daly, 88, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on October 2, 2025.
Born on July 12, 1937, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Helen Kalitowski and her daughter Ann Maureen Daly.
She married the love of her life, Lawrence “Larry” Daly. Their romance began in high school and grew into a remarkable union spanning more than seventy years, including sixty-six years of marriage.
Marilyn and Larry made their home in Minneapolis before moving to Clearwater in 1972, where they raised their family.
Marilyn worked in an administrative position at the University of Minnesota Department of Physical Medicine. After moving to Florida, she gave her time and talents to the community. She served as President of the Clearwater League of Women Voters, sat on its state board as education chair, and was honored for lifetime membership. Marilyn was also an active member of her beloved book club for over forty years, and an enthusiastic supporter of her favorite sports teams.
From 1987 until her retirement in 2003, Marilyn served as Director of Institutional Exemptions for the Pinellas County Property Appraiser’s Office, where she was admired for her professionalism, integrity, and kindness.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughter Kathleen Daly (Reinhart Lerch) and their son Ryan; son Michael Daly (Megan Woods Daly) and children Nicholas and Lauren; and daughter Mary Byrkit (Jeff) and children Rachael, Davis (Briana), and Parker. She also leaves behind siblings Janet Stenglein (David), Tom Kalitowski (Susan Horn), and Jim Kalitowski, and sister-in-law Pat Hrncir, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Marilyn will be remembered for her compassion, humor, strength, and the deep friendships she nurtured throughout her life.
A celebration of her life will be held after the first of the year. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn's name may be made to a local food, clothing, or social services agency.
