O. Douglas Stenstrom Jr's Obituary
Orin Douglas Stenstom Jr., 78, of Largo, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022 with his beloved daughter and niece by his side. He was born February 19, 1944 in Sanford, FL to Orin Douglas Stenstrom Sr. and Florence Stenstrom, who preceded him in death.
Doug was interested in journalism at a very young age, and purchased his first two ton printing press in seventh grade. He graduated from the University of Florida with a major in Journalism and a minor in political science. He worked in journalism for many years, eventually owning and operating his own newspaper, The New Smyrna Beach Observer.
Doug retired to Costa Rica where he enjoyed horticulture, birds and animals, tropical fruit trees, meditating, walking in nature and living the Pura Vida. He loved his family, coffee, watching classic cowboy movies and meeting new people.
Doug is survived by his loving daughter, Bridget Stenstrom Luchs, son in law Peter Luchs, his granddaughter Lorelei Luchs, his loving sister Patricia Stenstrom Fesperman and brother in law Tom Fesperman, niece Angela McClure, nephew Stephen Fesperman. His close friends and neighbors include Alba Molina & family, Rebecca Blustein Perales, Lara Baumheier, Edgar & Annia, Marcos & Liliana, Patricia, Emma & family.
