Paul Robert Mokwa's Obituary
Paul Robert Mokwa, 73, of Clearwater, FL passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born in Syracuse, NY and raised in Palm Harbor, FL, Paul brought humor, compassion, and a steady, loyal presence to everyone who knew him. He worked for 25 years as the Safety Supervisor at DisposAll, where his dedication and commitment to others made him a respected and beloved colleague. He also owned a food service business when he went into "partial" retirement and was a frequent vendor for several farmer markets in downtown Clearwater, Dunedin, Safety Harbor, and Tarpon Springs. He loved chatting with customers and fellow vendors, swapping stories, and being part of the local community.
Paul proudly held a private pilot's license for many years and took great joy in flying his family and friends over Florida’s skies. He was a proud member of the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed participating in community events such as holiday celebrations and First or Third Fridays. At home, Paul enjoyed life's simple pleasures–continuing his love of flying through online flight simulators, playing online solitaire or looking through old photos and videos on his iPad, adoring the family dogs, who were always by his side and brought him comfort and companionship, and cheering on Tampa Bay's professional sports teams with his family.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Robert John Mokwa and Eleanor Viola Schwaninger; his brother, Philip Leon Mokwa; and his son, Eric Paul Mokwa. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kimberly Ann Mokwa; his son, Timothy Robert Mokwa; his daughters, Samantha Ann Mokwa and April Mary Mokwa; and his granddaughter, Julianna.
A Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 pm on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Moss Feaster Dunedin Chapel with a reception to follow. The family will begin receiving visitors one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, Paul's family requests that donations be made in his honor to the American Heart Association.
