Phyllis Ellen Kashella's Obituary
Phyllis Ellen Kashella
Phyllis Ellen Kashella, 82, of Dunedin, Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on June 23, 2026.
Born on March 17, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, Phyllis was the daughter of Phillip and Marie Hammond and the second of three children. She attended Sacred Heart of Mary and furthered her education with the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Phyllis began her career as an elementary school teacher at Our Lady of Fatima in Baltimore before dedicating many years to raising her family as a homemaker. In 1984, she embarked on a second career in real estate where she became a highly successful and respected agent. She retired in 2010 after more than 20 years in the profession.
Throughout her life, Phyllis called many places home, including Baltimore, Maryland; Madonna Manor; Bel Air; Treasure Island; South Pasadena; and finally Dunedin, Florida. After retirement, she embraced the Florida lifestyle she loved, especially living near the water and enjoying its natural beauty.
A devoted Catholic, Phyllis was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin and previously attended Our Lady of Fatima in Baltimore. She lived her faith not only through words, but through a life of kindness, generosity, compassion, and unconditional love.
Phyllis found her greatest joy in her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Brooks, and Lola, whom she loved dearly. She treasured every moment spent with them and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.
She enjoyed walking along the Causeway, spending time at the beach, watching sunsets, looking for dolphins, cheering on the Tampa Bay Rays and Buccaneers, singing along to her favorite songs, and sharing laughter with friends and family. Her loved ones describe her as kind, generous, devout, resilient, and joyful.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Christine Feaster of Dunedin, Florida; her son, Andrew Kashella of Dunedin, Florida; her sister, Geraldine “Geri” Mileto of Dundalk, Maryland; her grandchildren, Daniel Hicks, Brooks Kashella, and Lourdes “Lola” Kashella; her great-grandson, Cameron Hicks; and many extended family members and treasured friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Phyllis’s dear friends, including Marge Wolff, Glen and Sue Kehr, and the many friends she cherished in the Elgin Building community.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin, Florida. A reception will immediately follow the Mass.
Phyllis lived a life marked by faith, love, resilience, and joy. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
