One of the highlights of the day for all of us who worked in the Clearwater bureau of the then-St. Petersburg Times was the walk to our cars and a short conversation with Dick. Usually about the sports news of the day, but could be about his family, our family, or just about anything. Always a smile on his face, quick to laugh, great to see his face at the end of a long day. We had many folks work that post over the years, but for those of us who were there during his stint, he's the one who stands out.
We're sorry to see he's gone, but know he'll always be remembered.
