I recall the summer my mom and I drove from Lubbock, Texas, to Clearwater, Florida. I had recently graduated from High School. Two "blondes" on a long road trip without today's technology of GPS made for an interesting adventure for sure! I'll admit I was anxious about staying with an aunt and uncle I had not seen (or barely knew) for years. I was just excited to go to the beach that was famously known for its clear water. Little did I know what I would experience instead. I gained much more than a nice tan or the feeling of the white sand between my toes. No, it was much more than that. It was something etched into my heart, my being, that I would hold forever. The love I felt the minute we walked in was like miles and years didn't separate us at all. It was like I was an everyday part of the family.
I'm glad I was able to stream the service. I enjoyed the laughter and the stories. To the family, may you hold tight to the memories, but cling stronger to the hope offered through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and only way to eternal life.
Much love,
