Richard H. Tarbox's Obituary
Richard Harris Tarbox was born on February 21st, 1941, in Nyack New York. He was the 2nd of 4 children born to Wilfred and Jean Tarbox. Dad met the love of his life, our Mom, his bride as he called her, back in 1963 and they were married 2 years later. They had their first child, Jennifer Ann in 1966 followed quickly by Richard Harris Jr. in 1967. Steven Cameron was born 11 years later, in 1978. Dad’s professional career began in the Army where he was stationed overseas. After this, he began working for the New York City Police Department in the Bronx. He retired from the department after an injury and move his family to Clearwater Florida in 1980, where he was active in the Woodgate Homeowners Association and enjoyed riding bikes with his kids, going to the beach and sitting under the magnolia tree in the front of our home with the neighbors all joining in. He worked a few different jobs after moving to Florida. He worked for The University of Tampa and Palms of Pasadena Hospital in security, and also worked in maintenance for Colliers Arnold in Clearwater.
As we grew up, we were all taught the importance of family, kindness, and tradition. Dad had a great sense of humor and was an amazing baker. He was known for his moist, flavorful cakes, cupcakes and especially cheesecakes!
He will be missed dearly by family and friends, but we take comfort in knowing he is with Mom and they are smiling down upon all of us.
Dad is survived by his sister Jeanne Ford, daughter Jennifer Caldarelli (Tony), sons Richard Tarbox Jr. (Laurie), and Steven Tarbox (Jennifer). Eight grandchildren, Joseph Caldarelli (Kayla), Kimberly Hart (Blake), Austin Tarbox (Alex), Logan Tarbox, Cameron Tarbox, Lauren Tarbox, Cooper Tarbox, and Claire Tarbox. Three great-grandchildren, Braxon Caldarelli, Hayden Caldarelli and Camden Caldarelli.
