Rita Rio Pennington's Obituary
Rita Pennington, 85, of Largo, Florida passed away on November 21st, 2023. She was born in Paducah, Kentucky on March 15th, 1938. Florida was home to her since the mid 1950's. She was a Production Supervisor for Honeywell and retired after 36 years. She volunteered for several years at Powell Cancer Center after being blessed with beating cancer. In her later years she enjoyed part-time work at the cruise lines as a greeter and crossing guard for an elementary school. She was one of the most compassionate, giving, caring persons you could ever meet & will certainly be missed by her family and friends. She loved baking, and during the holidays she could be found in the kitchen making pumpkins logs, sugar coated pecans & cracker candy. The light of her life was her 2 grandsons & 3 great-grandsons.
Surviving family members are her 2 children, William Pennington and Dana (Jeffrey) Cheney. Two grandsons, Shawn (Makenzie) Cheney & Ryan Cheney. Great grandsons; Gannon, Noah & Ollie. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, William & Della Dossett, her brothers, William, James, Ray & Roy Dossett, her sisters, Faye Meador, Anna Lee Justice & Connie Neuman.
A celebration of life will be held at Moss Feaster Funeral home on December 7th at 4:00pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 3:00pm. Dove release at approximately 3:30pm.
