Robert "Bob" Borland Jr.'s Obituary
Robert “Bob” Borland Jr. was born on November 6, 1964, in North Babylon, New York, to Robert and Mary Borland, and passed away on January 25, 2026, in Dunedin, Florida.
Bob is survived by his beloved son, Oliver Borland; his father, Robert Borland; his brother, Mike Borland; and his sisters, Missy Borland, Kathy (Rob) Fisher, and Liz (Dan) Winter. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Ryan and Jacob Fisher; Collin and Sean Ladd; and Camaryn and Danielle Winter in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A devout Catholic, Bob was the oldest of five children and a had a life-long love of learning. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of West Florida and later completed his master’s degree at the University of South Florida. Known for his patience and sharp mind, he was a wonderful math tutor who enjoyed helping others succeed.
Bob had a deep love for sports, especially baseball and football, and was a devoted Notre Dame fan. He traveled to many different countries but was just as happy taking a trip to any theme park. Bob also thoroughly enjoyed playing guitar, sitting down for several rounds of poker, and taking in concerts to see his favorite bands — Rush, Styx, and The Police, among many others.
Bob will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, and the love he had for his family. We are comforted knowing he has been reunited with his mother in heaven. He will be deeply missed.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dunedin FL.
