Being a late evening walker I used to drop in a and see Roger whilst he worked his 4-12 shift as a security guard at our condominium. Roger like myself was never short of an opinion and there were many times him and I disagreed as we had different political views. He had great stories about growing up in Chicago and also his time in Indiana and his service years in the US Army and we both had something in common namely an Irish Mother. A man of strong opinions that I respected though not always agreeing with, he nevertheless always stuck to his guns and one has to admire a man for that. The lowering of the US flag at our facility was something to behold as Roger treated our flag with the same respect as the flag that was raised at Iowa Jima.
Rest in Peace old friend we shall miss you.
