Sandra Lee Miller's Obituary
On October 25, 2022 Sandy Miller passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, brother Gregg, sister-in-law Christine nephew Grant and wife Lauren.
Sandy was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was a serious student as evidenced by her earning a R.N. degree from Presbyterian Nursing School, a masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a directorship position at Mass General Hospital in Boston. As a cardiac care specialist, she participated in clinical trials as well as establishing guidelines for state of the art nursing care. Eventually, she was recruited and hired by the Medtronic medical company which was a juggernaut in pacemaker development and cardiac cauterization treatment.
This business was demanding and competitive but she excelled, earned company recognition and eventually retired at a reasonably young age. She used this free time to develop her other passions of world travel and golf. She pursued these vigorously and formed many lifelong friendships along the way.
Lastly, Sandy recognized her responsibility to “give back” and make a difference. She was generous in many ways, volunteering and serving on the Board at the Clearwater Free Clinic, donating to various charities , both local and national, supporting the Morton Plant Foundation, doctors and nurses and the Homeless Empowerment Program.
Although sadly missed, we know she is enjoying time with her dear parents Lill and Ed Pfund.
