Steven Martin Strange's Obituary
Steven Martin Strange, age 70, peacefully passed away Monday evening, November 10, 2025, at his longtime home in Clearwater, FL. He was afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease accelerated by a tragic bike accident in 2018 - that most people wouldn’t have survived. Steve was born October 4, 1955 in Long Beach, CA, middle son of the late Geoffrey and Suzy Strange. Steve was a larger than life character with no fear or inhibitions. As a University of Florida alumnus (‘77) and huge Gator fan, he single-handedly built Reliable Moving & Storage, Inc. into a five truck operation serving residential & commercial customers throughout the state of Florida. With that success came globe trotting around the world, annual Strangeman’s Beach Biathlons and community involvement in the City of Clearwater & Chamber of Commerce. Every friend Steve had from grade school, the UF ATO fraternity, the neighborhood, travels and business contacts has a funny story or incident to share. They broke the mold with Steve and his wide array of friends will remember the good times and laughs they had - along with some of the trouble gotten into with the infamous Strangeman. Steve is survived by his siblings: Geoffrey (Maureena) Strange and Dixie (Mike) Russell of New Port Richey, FL and Southern Pines, NC, respectively. Nephews and nieces: Gregg (Renee) and Zachary (Sarah) Strange, Sean Russell, Dylan Russell, Courtney Russell and Savannah Strickland. Great nephews and nieces: Ryan, Bryant, JennaLisa, Aubrey, Arianna and Estella. Best friend and long time caregiver Laura Prather. According to his little sister Dixie, “Steve was an entrepreneur, a great athlete and friend to many. His love of life and charisma were contagious - people were naturally drawn to him.” Graveside service will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery on December 11, 2025, at 11:00am. Grave 8, Block/Lot DMX-24, Section D located near his parents. Friends and family will have the opportunity say a few words… Immediately afterwards a Celebration of Life will be held at Bauser’s neighborhood bar located at 520 Douglas Ave., Dunedin, FL 34698. Buffet style food will be served with an assortment of non-alcoholic drinks. A cash bar with wide selection of beers, wines and spirits will also be available and served by an experienced and attentive bar staff.
