Victor W. Rodwell's Obituary
Victor William Rodwell passed away on September 27, 2022, aged 93. He was born in London, England to William and Alice (Maynard) Rodwell on September 10, 1929. His family came to the U.S when he was 10.
Vic received his bachelor's and master’s degrees in Washington, D.C. and his Ph.D in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas. He held the position of Professor of Biochemistry for many years, conducting research, teaching, and training graduate students before retiring in 2004. For many years he promoted a summer research program to increase underrepresented student participation in graduate studies. He enjoyed reading history, music, caving, hiking, and traveling, particularly when cruising the canals of England and Wales.
Vic will be greatly missed by his family: Meredith, his wife of 70 years; his sons Eric Rodwell and Keith Rodwell, and daughter Ellen Schmidt, and their spouses; and his grandchildren, Sara Rodwell, Jeffrey Rodwell, Gunnar Schmidt, and Jacqueline Schmidt, and their spouses.
Memorial celebration will be private.
