We met Walter and Georgia through our cousins, Orville and Peg Coy. Walter and Georgia became life long friends and we enjoyed many happy times with them in Florida as well as Illinois when they came to visit us. They were both role models in the field of volunteering with their endless generosity of their time and talents. - Jim and Julie Tortorelli
We enjoyed our times together with Walt and Georgia. They were distant cousins but connected right away, like we had known each other for years. As well as seeing them at some events in various places, we had the honor of being hosted in their home. They took us to see "Head Start", where they helped children learn to read. They also took us to their favorite Lenny's, Hooters and to see various sights in the Clearwater area. We were considering Clearwater as a home, and they recommended several areas and we looked at some houses together. If we had ended up there, it would have been awesome to live so close to Walt and Georgia. They were energetic, positive and global thinkers in this world. They were all-inclusive and enjoyed people in general. The world will miss them along with us.

I first met Walt in 1996 and he was, over the years, very kind to me. Years ago, he would drop into my office with a cheery greeting and then he'd always have a story or an interesting fact to share. In the past 13 years or so, I didn't have occasion to see him as often but Mike and I would run into him (and Georgia before she passed) at disability events or - of course - at Lenny's. Walt would always make us feel like long-lost family! He left a legacy in Florida, his dedication to the disability community never wavered and his volunteer work made a difference in countless lives. He will be missed. -- Eileen & Mike Gilley
It is with such a heavy heart upon hearing of Walter's passing. It was twenty years ago that we met Walter and Georgia on a cruise to Bermuda - with Georgia encouraging our then two year old to join them in the card room. From that day forward my children have always considered Walter and Georgia their Floridian Grandparents. The fact that they both born with a golden heart that was ten times larger than the average human's meant that they were destined to be together and to do great things. Now it is time to rest and be reunited with the love of your life.

So many happy memories of Uncle Walter floating in his pool, eating lunch or other celebrations at Lenny's, shelling on Anna Maria, family holidays, dancing with Aunt Georgia at Chris' wedding and meeting up with Aunt Georgia and him at the Hard Rock Cafe in London. He was always upbeat and fun. He was always ready to help out special causes, most notably UPARC. Georgia, kudos for the care you gave him. Paula, condolences and love, Katie and David
I used to work at Lenny's a long time ago. Walter and Georgia were always the highlight of most of us girls day. They'd walk around and talk to everyone, especially when there were little kids. After I left Lenny's, I was there once for lunch, with my then less than a year old grandson Elias. He's 8 now. Walter and Georgia was there. After spending some time talking to them, Georgia walked out to their car and brought back a little board book with animals and gave it to Elias. Two more grand babies enjoyed that little treasure, and every time I see it I remember them both. May you rest in peace Walter and say hi to Georgia.....
