Walter F. Schoenig's Obituary
Schoenig, Walter Frederick, 93, passed away in Clearwater on May 30, 2017. Mr. Schoenig was born on October 21, 1923 in Cleveland Ohio. After serving in the US Navy in World War II, Mr Schoenig married Georgia Bessie Frericks, graduated from Bowling Green University and went to work for Standard Oil. Mr. Schoenig retired in1979 and moved to Florida with his wife and daughter Lisa in 1979. He and his wife were very active in many community organizations, and they were named Volunteers of the Year by Goodwill Industries-Suncoast in 2006. Mr. Schoenig is survived by his daughter, Paula, granddaughter, Georgia, two great grandchildren, Shaymar and Cheyenne, and niece Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank, wife Georgia and daughter Lisa. A memorial service is being planned and will be announced when a date is confirmed. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to UPARC, Advocare Trust, Goodwill Industries, or Family Network on Disabilities.
