I am so happy that I got to spend so much time with Miss Wanda. We sang, we played games, we drew and did crafts. We watched Andy Griffith and Carol Burnett and laughed so much. It felt good to just sit and hold hands and sing together. I will truly miss you Miss Wanda, I know you are at peace with your Bob and Mom and Dad and others. One of my favorite memories of Aunt Wanda was when she met her great-great nephew Brayden. He was so content with her and she enjoyed holding him. Aunt Wanda was such a kind beautiful soul and she will be missed. I am happy she is finally at peace with her one true love and her daughter. RIp🙏🏼❤️
I have so many fond memories of my Aunt Wanda. I spend several weeks each year at the Durso home in Stamford as a child.
My favorite meal was when she made pizza fritta for dinner (fried dough with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese) AND for dessert (more fried dough with sugar) LOL! There were also some nurturing moments like when I got stung by a bee on my big toe and when I burnt my entire hand on the frying pan trying to make grilled cheese, there was Wanda to comfort me and take care of the ouchies and booboos!
But most of all, I remember her infectious laugh…you could hear her a mile away. And when she and my Mom would get together and laugh, it was absolutely HYSTERICAL!

In the 90s, I went down to visit her and my grandfather with my cousin. It was the first time that I traveled without my sisters, brother, or parents. I immediately got home sick, but Gram made me feel comfortable and loved. We had a great week and I’ll always cherish that memory.
