Warren P Johnson's Obituary
Johnson, Warren Paul “Whitey to some”, “John to others”, passed away March 9th at the age of 74, in the company of his loving family. He was predeceased by his mother Agnes and his father Paul. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Madelyn his 3 sons Scott (Heather), Stephen (Lisa), Stacy (Denise), his bothers Vernon, Dennis (Marsha), his 8 Grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and in laws. The fact that their names are not all listed here merely reflects a lack of space, never a lack of love. He was a kind hearted man, and a loyal friend but most of all he was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family. In his early years, Warren moved throughout the Midwest as his father, who was a Pastor, was called to serve. After graduating from High School in Oakland, Nebraska, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for over 20 years. Some of his greatest memories were of times spent aboard the USS Nautilus (SSN571). As long as he lived and wherever he went he always cherished the life-long friendships made in Oakland as well as the experiences and friendships made while serving his country.
After retiring from the Navy, Warren began a second career in the Nuclear Power Field. He worked in various capacities as a Nuclear Engineer for many years. In his later years he served on the board of the Nautilus Alumni Association as well as being a past Commander of the US Submarine Veterans, Tang Base. He was a true Patriot!
His memory will remain warm in our hearts and will comfort our sorrow. He is not apart from us but a part of us, for love is eternal.
