Dear ToyMakers,
It is with a very sad heart that I let you know of the passing of one of our ToyMakers.
Our beloved friend Wayne Gable passed away on Sunday morning (January 03, 2021). Wayne joined ToyMakers in 2014 and was an active volunteer until a few weeks ago. Wayne is best known for the delightful penguins and ducks with long handles which have brought smiles to many of the children at Tampa General Hospital. The hospital staff like them because the children in rehab are more excited to take their penguin for a walk than to just do the rehab exercise.
Wayne and Caroline also made unique “Jeep” boxes and business card holders, crayon carriers, and “flip cars with ramp" which they donated for our Silent Auction. Wayne also built the cabinets located under the drill presses at the workshop.
In addition to his woodworking, Wayne was also a constant promoter of ToyMakers with everyone he met resulting in a number of donations.
Wayne will be greatly missed by so many. Rest in peace Wayne.
Please keep his beloved Caroline, their family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Notes of sympathy and prayers are welcomed and can be sent to Caroline Smith, 3088D Grovewood Blvd., Palm Harbor FL, 34683.
